The challenge
As a research and innovation centre in Trinity College Dublin - funded by Enterprise Ireland and IDA Ireland - Learnovate is a membership-led organisation shaping the future of work and learning.
Offering access to cutting-edge innovation and a community of researchers, academics and professionals transforming learning experiences, Learnovate needed its website to work on multiple levels: to better showcase its authority as a centre of excellence, enhance visibility of its international research, reach new audiences and help its existing community unlock the full benefits of membership.
Over time, separate public and members' websites had created an inconsistent and cumbersome experience. Content was duplicated across platforms, updates required unnecessary admin effort, and users often had to navigate between environments to find what they needed. Learnovate needed a more streamlined, scalable solution – one that reduced complexity behind the scenes while improving clarity and usability for its audiences.
To transform how Learnovate engages with its audiences and deliver a user-first digital membership platform, we began by gathering insight - into the organisation's goals, audience needs, brand, messaging and content.
Rather than maintaining separate sites, we created one unified, gated-content platform that serves both public visitors and members. This removed duplication, significantly reduced content management overhead for administrators, and delivered a more intuitive experience for users.
The shift wasn't just technical - it was strategic. We removed the divide between public and private, moving from a fragmented structure to one seamless digital experience.

We paired a modernised identity with a flexible, modular layout that brings research, thought leadership and innovation to the forefront - not buried in subpages, but positioned as dynamic, discoverable content.
