A bold, digital-first identity connecting Irish innovation to the world

The Challenge
Digital Irish has spent over a decade championing Irish entrepreneurs, investors and innovators across the world – from Dublin’s startup scene to New York’s and Sydney’s skylines. But as their network expanded, their brand stayed put.
They needed an identity that reflected where they are now and where they were going, not just where they’d been: confident, future-facing and fluent in the language of digital, venture and scale. A brand that could flex across continents, platforms and sub-brands, all while keeping that warm Irish soul intact.
That’s where we came in: to evolve Digital Irish into a global brand built for momentum, collaboration and connection.
We didn’t just design a new logo. We reimagined how the Digital Irish brand shows up in the world.
At the heart of the identity is the underscore. A simple line with big meaning. It symbolises space: for members to join, to grow, to connect. It’s a unifying thread across the entire system, from brand to sub-brand, from motion to message with it’s roots in an ‘old skool’ ms dos prompt_
We built a vibrant, digital-first brand where clean typography, motion and colour collide. A deep navy and core blue anchor the identity in credibility, while bright greens and vivid gradients signal constant evolution. Every sub-brand, from Digital Irish Tech Week to Podcast to Venture Fund, has its own colour energy, forming a living ecosystem of innovation and collaboration.
For launch, we took the brand global with Digital Irish Tech Week in New York (October 2025) – complete with motion language, looping visuals, and event design that made the underscore come alive on every screen.
The result is a brand that doesn’t just represent a community, it moves with it.
We knew a key part of communicating the core of the Digital Irish brand was capturing ‘a modern Ireland’ and the true power of the Irish diaspora. And to help achieve this, we love nothing more than using pop culture as a trojan horse for business and creativity 🙂
So from the heady, early days of modern 90s Ireland (a la U2’s Zooropa), to the boldness and simplicity of today’s modern Ireland (a la Fontaine DC’s Romance) – we drew inspiration from colour palette to motion to typography, and everything in between, we looked at Irish heritage brands like the GAA and St.Patrick’s Festival that have successfully modernised their brand marks.

Partnering with Ebow on the Digital Irish rebrand was a genuinely energising experience. From the outset, our board had a clear and united sense of who we were, what we were evolving into, and, just as importantly, what we didn’t want. The vision, ambition, and mission were already firmly established within our team. What we needed was an Irish design agency, with a history steeped in excellence, the same hunger to scale in the US, and the creative excellence to elevate what we had built.
Ebow took the foundation we had defined and translated who we are today, and who we’re becoming, into a brand system brought to life with remarkable precision and craft. Dave and his team understood the essence of our community, elevating our ideas into a cohesive underscore concept, a dynamic motion system, and a scalable sub-brand architecture that can grow with our momentum and ambition.
Our New York reveal at Digital Irish Tech Week was a proud moment for our community and a powerful amplifier of our mission, partnerships, and global growth.
Ebow proved to be exceptional partners, collaborative, insightful, and fully aligned with our ambition to articulate an identity we’ve been shaping for over a decade.
