We’re looking for an ambitious, playful and passionate Middleweight Designer to join our growing UK creative team.
You’re someone who’s as comfortable working on the finer details of a website design, as you are brainstorming heart-capturing creative ideas for digital marketing campaigns, and you’re content working both independently and collaboratively.
You’re looking to join an agency that’s agile enough to feel like you know everyone’s name and can make a real impact, but established enough to give you processes and prestigious clients to work and grow with.
Who is Ebow?
Founded in Dublin in 1999, Ebow are digital originals with 25 years’ experience – working with major brands from around the globe. We use technology creatively and playfully to help brands to capture hearts and change minds, and our roots have, and always will be, connected to our love of art, music, books and culture.
Today, Ebow is still growing – working in new places and sectors for new and established clients. Opening new doors everyday.
We’re trusted by the likes of Ireland’s national health service HSE, world-renowned university Trinity College and global brand Kerrygold to name a few, and are proud sponsors of Ireland’s museum of literature, MoLI.
Like we say, the arts mean a lot to us.
The Ebow Creative Promise
As Ebow creatives we all make four promises, or ‘Makes’.
We promise to:
- Make work that resonates with the cultural zeitgeist: colourful, current and global. We do this by staying engaged and open-minded.
- Make greatness tangible – create things that look great, work great, make the client feel great, and make you feel great too. We do this by helping clients shape a great creative brief.
- Make work that makes the difference – use your creative gifts to impact the client’s ROI. We do this by capturing hearts, changing minds and inspiring action.
- Make work from play – and dive into the creative playpen. We do this by mixing things up, messing things up, and getting absolutely covered in bright ideas.
We’ve embraced remote working, and also have hot desk space (if you prefer to leave the house in the morning) in our London, Dublin and soon to be Manchester offices.
If we’re already speaking your language, we’re excited that you’re excited!
Who you are
You’re an eager, emerging designer and creative thinker with 3 to 5 years agency experience. You’ve developed a solid foundation in design principles. You’ve slick technical skills across Adobe Creative Suite and Figma. Your portfolio demonstrates your ability to handle a range of digital design projects independently, while still being able to grow under the guidance of senior designers. And most importantly, you care about people, the planet, and not taking yourself too seriously.
You’ve a committed work ethic and your happy place is being a valued part of a supportive team. You bring bags of fresh, culturally relevant ideas to the table that span web, social, email, digital advertising and more, and you’ve the ability to execute them with ease.
As a middleweight designer, you’ll be guided to have both a sense of ownership of your projects and feel at home presenting to and liaising with clients, and you’ll be a fundamental, collaborative support to senior members of the creative team too. The ability to traverse multiple projects, remain flexible and open throughout multiple revisions, while also retaining your keen eye for detail is a non-negotiable.
What you do
These are just a few of the skills we’d expect of a middleweight designer, but we think without boxes and know talent comes in all shapes and sizes.
- Your passion for design and creativity isn’t just limited to your day-job. It likely spills over the edges into other areas of your life, which inspires you to consistently create boundary-pushing, original work
- You have an eye for detail, and an eye for what’s fresh and exciting
- You’re keen to grow and gain autonomy, and welcome the support and mentoring from your creative team to get you there
- You have a strong flair and understanding of typography, colour, layout, imagery and UX design principles. You know how to seamlessly combine these elements to capture and express a brand’s personality, voice, and values. You also know how to utitlise them in a way that provides a delicious, engaging and effective user experience – whether that be through web, social, email or digital advertising
- You can demonstrate hands-on skills in (and intimately know the inner workings of) Figma, Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign and Google Workspace, and you’re a dab hand whipping up a presentation in Keynote too
- Managing your own time effectively, maintaining responsibility for your projects and delivering to deadlines is your day-to-day comfort zone
- You enjoy taking projects from conception to completion, and being a proud guardian of both the outcome, and the client’s brand and guidelines
- Problems and challenges look like opportunities to you, and you love getting your teeth into, and solving a new brief.
