DE PROFUNDIS at the IFI: Ebow supports MoLI’s powerful new Oscar Wilde film and exhibition

On the evening of Thursday 16th October Ebow was proud to attend a deeply moving cultural moment: the Irish Film Institute (IFI) screening of MoLI’s Oscar Wilde: De Profundis film. This special event, part of the Oscariana festival, was more than just a film screening – it was a celebration of Wilde’s rawest, most intimate writing, and Ebow felt honoured to have been one of the sponsors of this piece of work.
The 60-minute film brought to life Wilde’s prison letter to Lord Alfred “Bosie” Douglas – the only piece he completed during his two-year imprisonment at Reading Gaol. This project gives voice to Wilde’s philosophical, tender, and sometimes enraged reflections through haunting visuals of significant locations interwoven with readings by a vibrant community of LGBTQ+ writers, artists, and activists, including Naoise Dolan, Seán Hewitt, Una Mullally, Jane Clarke, Adiba Jaigirdar, and Tonie Walsh.
